Hello! I agree with what the others have posted, especially that you should find like-minded people in your area. We have been home schooling for 6 years now and I honestly don't know how I'd get by without my "school" buddies! They are a great source of encouragement, help and ideas...

Hi, I just wanted to encourage you to find some other homeschoolers in your area. I am in my 5th year of homeschooling and the homeschooling moms I've met along the way have been such a blessing. They have been a source of encouragement and support when I needed it. My son has found friends and learned...

  • Encouragement for new to homeschooling.

I have six sons - the first 5 attended public school and my youngest just began homeschooling as a 5th grader this year. Getting started seemed a bit overwhelming at first, just making the decision was overwhelming. My best advice for decision making and getting started is breaking it down into small...

Hello, I'm Debbie and I'm in Hampshire in the UK. I currently home educate a 14 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. Before we started to homeschool, another mother who had been homeschooling for several years, said...

Hi again On the Fence. . . After homeschooling for over ten years, the best thing about homeschooling, to me, is something simple. It's the real life that a child, and I get to live. At home we have such a neat opportunity to give our children a daily life where they can live their lives richly and...

  • Re: On the Fence

Before we started homeschooling, we visited two families who homeschooled, to see what it was like. In reality, visiting them didn't exactly give us a vision for homeschooling, anymore than we already had, because those two families homeschooled so differently than we wanted to, and than we did....

  • On the Fence

Hi! I've been thinking about homeschooling my two girls but want to make sure it's the right direction for my family. As a perfectionist, you can imagine I'm a little apprehensive overall. The girls are both doing well in their public school but our older daughter gets bored easily. I'm...
