  • Re: Just starting a scary adventure!

It sure does go away, just take your lead from God! He will lead you in the direction you should go, without a doubt. Try to connect with home education groups in your area for support and encouragement. You will find with time you will gain confidence in your abilities. Hope this helps.

  • Re: Time Management

I applaud what you are doing. Great job and just think of all the valuable memories you are building with your son. It is not uncommon to get into the cycle you describe. I am raising my grandddaughter and homeschooling her and tutoring others and sometimes I find myself there too (frustration, anger...

  • Re: Time Management

Hi Jim! It sounds like you are doing a great job at figuring out your time management. Whatever works for you and your family is the right recipe! While we homeschooling parents can end up wearing many "hats" (i.e. - teacher, parent, spouse, friend, coach, cook, driver, homemaker etc) it is...

  • Time Management

It has taken me awhile to find the right formula. My wife's schedule has been part of the problem, she is a nurse and works 12 hour shifts, her rotation is 3 days on, 2 off, then 2 on and 3 off. I am the stay at home dad, and I try to give Rita and James their time on her days off. We started home...

  • Re: Editing Materials

Hi again De-Anna, We're so glad you are finding PER valuable!! Your suggestions are a great help!! Thank you!! We keep a prioritized list for PER 2.0 and will add these. Another idea for when you are creating a course--in that moment you only need to enter one item. If you aren't ready with the...

  • Re: Editing Materials

Virginia - Thank you for your quick reply. Since, I am in the set-up process I've adding and deleting like crazy trying to figure out how this system works. I solved my problem by deleting the "Material" entires I had made and starting over. As I entered each material I made sure to add...

  • Re: Chore wars!

Elsa, Toddlers and preschoolers can be challenging! I know, I have a 23 month old--the youngest of 4 children. He can make messes much faster than all the rest of us put together can clean them up! :-) Some things I have found to be helpful are: Limit the amount of clothing, toys, puzzles, books, etc...

  • Re: Would like your opinion please...

HI there! There are many factors to consider when deciding on curriculum. One very impt. factor is understanding your child's learning style (i.e is he/she a visual, tactile, auditory learner etc.) Once you are able to identify how your child learns then you can navigate your way through the options...

  • Re: multiple ages in homeschool?

Hi Amy! Karen posted some really great ideas. My children are almost 8 yrs. apart (3&11). I found this to be a challenge too. I keep a special "school" box for my little one filled with fun things for him to do while I teach my oldest his lessons. We have a desk and chair for our youngest...
