Go to your local library. there is a section devoted to homschoolers. I have several favorite books that I have used. I like "How To Homeschool" , by Gayle Graham. It helped me with a reasonable schedule, record keeping and other important issues. Of course there are many other books to help...

  • Anyone from Washington State?

I am looking for friends for my son and myself. I live about an hour away from Spokane. Moses Lake, Ephrata, and Omak are close too. We are brand new to homeschooling and need some friends and tips. My son is pre-k, 3 years old and loves to be social. We have a big family but no one for support with...

Hello there! I am not in Wisconsin, sorry, but I have just started homeschooling this year myself. I am guessing your daughter is going into 6th grade? My suggestion would be to get acquainted with your State Laws. Either by checking out the HSLDA website and clicking onto your State or gong online to...

Hello Anna, I am really sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope her pain isnt too bad. Just trying to get more information, are you looking into Homeschool or have you already taken her out? When you said the school would not work with you, did they tell you they could not accomodate her? As for starting...

  • Re: Considering homeschool for 1st grader

Sorry for taking so long to respond. My son really liked the Hooked on Phonics books, but we never did crack open any of the other materials, flashcards or CDs. I got him to the point where he could sound out words, then we just dealt with unknowns as they appeared. How easy it will be for you will depend...

  • Re: I'm new and don't know what I need to buy???

What a wonderful choice you and your husband have made for your girls! When I first brought my daughter home for school, we started with an all inclusive package. It was good for that first year because I was so unsure of myself (still am unsure on many days!) However, today we use a much more flexible...
