  • Re: Just starting a scary adventure!

It sure does go away, just take your lead from God! He will lead you in the direction you should go, without a doubt. Try to connect with home education groups in your area for support and encouragement. You will find with time you will gain confidence in your abilities. Hope this helps.

We are in a similar situation, not a new one for us.....we moved 6 times in 4 years and always seem to be looking for friends! Try the local churches, they usually have at least a few homeschoolers. Also talk to the librarian at your library....he or she would know if there is a local homeschool group...

Hi Anri, Welcome to the Forum! Gosh, I have no idea where Broken Bow is! Sometimes homeschoolers are SO isolated that they get much of their support online, so I'm glad you found us. Checking Meetup.com is a good idea. You could also check cafemom.com ... they have a lot of homeschoolers in there ... I belong to 5 of the homeschool groups there! Good Luck and enjoy your child and homeschooling! :o)

You could try to google "meetup" and see if they have a group in your area.

I have found that if you can locate just one group it will often lead to the next contact etc. I think that I originally found my first group of homeschoolers via the internet by searching for homeschoolers that live in the same county...they have a local forum and from there I was able to make contact...

Hi, I know you are in central Texas but here is a link to a group in north Texas that might answer all your questions! Perhaps they might know of a group in central Texas as well. Hope this is helpful! http://www.nthen.org/index.html Chris
