Hi there, Like many of us who walk this journey, you are certainly facing some tough decisions. I would like to offer my personal experiences from taking my child out of PS (finished K and 1st gr. PS - before that we did private pre-school and pre-k). Private school did not have the resources to offer...

  • Re: New to home schooling

It sounds like homeschooling will be ideal for your son. I'm not sure what state you are in so I'm not sure what all your regulations are. However, if you can, I would take the rest of the school year to 'deschool'. Let him have some time to let go of the stress of school and remember...

  • New to home schooling

Hi my name is Rhonda and I am currently in the process of arranging homeschooling for my 10 year old boy. He has attended public schools his whole life and has struggled with learning. He was retained by my request in 2nd grade. He has had IEP services at school until the 3rd grade. I held him back thinking...

You will learn so much about how he learns and what he is interested in, so that by the time you feel you really need some curriculum you will have a much better idea what will work well...

Thanks so much for the info! I'm picking brains as well. My 8 year old loves science, math, and anything star wars. I figure...

I am a new homeschool mom, and wife of a veteran of desert storm in Texas and can identify completely! I just pulled my 5th and 2nd graders out of school and am in the same boat. I found a local homeschool bookstore and they were very helpful to me. Gave me websites, and load of encouragement. Ask around...

  • starting at the end of a school year

Hi I am an Army wife that assumed education would be at its finest peak on a U.S. Army base. Boy was I wrong. Where the funds and teachers lack, the students are worse. There is constant bullying and fighting and my son's bright light has dimmed since I enrolled him here. I have looked into homeschooling...
