  • Additional Reasons for Homeschooling

I enjoyed reading the 6 Great Things about Homeschooling under the Quick Tips (in issue 102). Here are my additions to this list: 7. We can minister together more often as a family. Yes, my children and I have the privilege of being available to do childcare, elderly visits, make and deliver meals, etc...

Hello Ladies, I have been homeschooling forover 11 years now. I am here if you need to ask any questions. I may not know all the answers but I do know how to find out the answers. I also work for a on-line homeschooling blog called "Homeschool blogger.com". We have a lot of information there...

  • Re: Encouragement Needed

Hi DebbieR! This is my first time on a community page but your post is something that I can relate to. My son is in 7th grade this year. We pulled him out of public school in the middle of 6th grade to homeschool him. He loved school up until that year and always did well also. He was diagnosed with...

  • Re: New to home schooling

It sounds like homeschooling will be ideal for your son. I'm not sure what state you are in so I'm not sure what all your regulations are. However, if you can, I would take the rest of the school year to 'deschool'. Let him have some time to let go of the stress of school and remember...

  • New to home schooling

Hi my name is Rhonda and I am currently in the process of arranging homeschooling for my 10 year old boy. He has attended public schools his whole life and has struggled with learning. He was retained by my request in 2nd grade. He has had IEP services at school until the 3rd grade. I held him back thinking...

Don't worry about a curriculum right now. Get him out, enjoy your time together and explore any interests he has. You will learn so much about how he learns and what he is interested in, so that by the time you feel you really need some curriculum you will have a much better idea what will work well...

Thanks so much for the info! I'm picking brains as well. We are originally from Austin Tx but were stationed here at fort stewart georgia five years ago and have been doing deployments and stop-losses since that have held us here. My 8 year old loves science, math, and anything star wars. I figure...

  • Re: starting at the end of a school year

I am a new homeschool mom, and wife of a veteran of desert storm in Texas and can identify completely! I just pulled my 5th and 2nd graders out of school and am in the same boat. I found a local homeschool bookstore and they were very helpful to me. Gave me websites, and load of encouragement. Ask around...

  • starting at the end of a school year

Hi I am an Army wife that assumed education would be at its finest peak on a U.S. Army base. Boy was I wrong. Where the funds and teachers lack, the students are worse. There is constant bullying and fighting and my son's bright light has dimmed since I enrolled him here. I have looked into homeschooling...
