How do I put Holidays on my calendar?

Does anyone know how to go to the calendar and add on the holiday for that day? I always miss important holidays that

could be used for school projects and such. I want to do it for the whole year so I can get stuff ready. Thanks a lot.

Go to the calendar and click "create a nonschool day".  You can also block the day if your child is sick (it moves that days assignments to the next day) using this function.  You can name the holiday in free text.  This can also be used for "spur of the moment" trips and activities without loosing the lesson plans.

Be careful using the non-school day as non-school days will not be counted in your attendance.  Use non-school day for holidays (such as Christmas and Thanksgiving), sick days, and vacations or other days for which you definitely DO NOT want to count attendance, days in which you will not be completing any school work.

If you are looking for a way to make note of "lesser" holidays, such as Valentine's Day or St. Patrick's Day, try using the Field Trip option.  For example, if you want to remind yourself (and your students) that it is St. Patrick's Day, you can go to the Parent's Home Page and click on Field Trip.  Follow the on screen instructions to create a field trip called "St. Patrick's Day."  You can use the Goals or Materials fields to add notes about what projects, crafts, or other related activities you want to have your children accomplish.

     Happy Homeschooling--and Happy Holiday-ing!

Thanks for the info. I did a little summer school and used it to practice with this website, and I did a few skip days. In reading the

FAQ it said that it doesn't count. It's as if the day didn't exist, but it shows up as incomplete days.  I thought that was weird.

So for the future, how do I write a day where my daughter was absent? Is it just with the non-school day? And how do I write in there why she was absent?

Sometimes,  like in normal school, we are sick and can't do work and I wanted to say why. Ok thanks for the info.
