Any users of Switched on schoolhouse History

    Hi,

I'm trying to find a good history curriculum for my 9th graders.  Has anyone used the Switched on History  either 9th grade or 11th grade versions?  The curriculum I currently have doesn't go into much depth, and there are no tests to go with it.

    Thanks,

    Dana

We are using All American History.  It comes in 2 volumes and there are is a student workbook and a teacher edition that can be purchased. I like the "bite-sized" pieces it provides, rather than hunks of information.

Topics are covered in small units so it isn't overwhelming material.  It includes mapping activities, writing prompts, and questions to be answered at the end of each lesson.  Ny 8th/9th grader is using volume 1 and my 11th grader is using volume 2.

I purchased it at Rainbow Resources but also found it on other sites.  There is also a yahoogroup up and running for discussing various topics concerning the curriculum.

We tried SOS and were neutral on it.

If you ever want a great geography only curriculum - Runkles Geography is great - it is intense geography, almost like Earth and space science and geography wrapped into one great curriculum.  It took us two years to get through it all but it was worth it.

     Have a great homeschooling year!

    Martha
