Looking for a good Second Grade Science Curriculum

    Greetings,

I have been searching for a good science curriculum for 2nd grade.  I would like something with lots of hands-on activities.  I have been looking at the Bob Jones Science and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it.  Please, any info you have will be greatly appreciated.  I mostly create my own curriculum.  I do not want to spend a ton on a textbook if I can cover the academic requirements more creatively on my own.

If anyone knows of a good science curriculum that would provide a good foundation for me to expand on, let me know.

    Thanks a bunch!!

    Hello,

I used the Abeka, God's World curriculum for Science for all 5 years of homeschooling and I am continuing to use it again this year.  It has a lot of hands on projects in the book that coincide with the lessons.  You can go to there website to review the books online.  Hope this helps

I would suggest either LifePac or Real Science 4 Real kids. I love the RS4RK set, my oldest 2 did the pre-level 1 and level one and loved it.. I hope to be able to do it again in a few years with #3 and 4.

    Hi,

Have you looked at NOEO?  It is science using a notebooking approach.  Plus they have science kits that come with the set.  They include everything you need for experiments.  It is somewhat expensive, but you get all the books, teacher guide and kits.  If you are tight on $, then you could order the teacher book and kits, and then try to utilize the library for all the books.

It is a lot of fun and this is our second year using NOEO.

    Jean
