Nice to "meet" you! I have a couple of ideas for you. You may have to try out a couple of things to find what works for you, but here goes.
There is a neat, free online site at www.oldfashionededucation.com. They have several free algebra resources there to try out.
Also, your public library probably has lots of algebra books. I just checked the catalog at mine and there is even Algebra for Dummies! (I could use that book!) Our library even has teaching courses on tape of intructors teaching an algebra class.
In terms of programs, if you find something you might be interested in, look to buy in used. Ebay often has Math-U-See and other programs listed very reasonably.
